The York County CERT Training program is an interactive program that promotes emergency preparedness at the individual, family and neighborhood level. The program helps citizens develop skills that may benefit them personally, their family, neighborhood, and potentially, their community before, during, and when recovering from a major emergency or disaster. It also helps to promote neighborhood self-sufficiency until emergency services can arrive.
The York County CERT Training Program is a free course covering the topics below, along with a practical exercise. It is offered to citizens of York County and to those who work or worship in the County. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and complete a course prerequisite before training begins.
Each class session is approximately 3 hours. Training sessions are typically 7-8 evenings, once a week, and two Saturdays in the last two weeks. CERT program schedules are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions, class needs, and/or other events/incidents that require deviation.
Optional visits to some of our County safety facilities will also be offered.
