Children's Services Act (CSA)

Program Overview

The Children's Services Act (CSA) was designed to establish a multidisciplinary approach to providing and funding services to meet youth and families' needs.


The local CSA program is made up of the Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) and Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) who partner with the family to help address their concerns and access services. Both teams are made up of representatives from the York-Poquoson Department of Social Services, Colonial Behavioral Health, York County Public Schools, 9th District Court Services Unit and Peninsula Health District.

Community Policy & Management Team (CPMT)
The CPMT holds monthly meetings involving the approval of funding for services recommended by the FAPT team and local community policymaking entity.

Meetings are held (unless otherwise noted):

  • 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Every third Tuesday

Family Assessment & Planning Team (FAPT)

The FAPT holds monthly meetings involving the assessment of children and their families' needs and strengths and the development of a service plan to build on identified strengths and address assessed needs.
