Tanya Coles directs and manages child development services for the Division of Children and Family Services and the County Head Start program. She is responsible for developing, administering, and supervising child development services provided to the community by the County Head Start program. Mrs. Coles administers the County contracts with non-profit agencies and other groups for various early childhood developmental programs. Mrs. Coles surveys the community's needs for child development services, assists with community projects, and serves as a resource for issues relating to children and early childhood development.

Mrs. Coles has a B.A in History from Virginia State University, an M.A. in History from Old Dominion University, a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University. She also holds an endorsement in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health as an Infant Family Specialist and is a Certified Family Support Professional. Her work with young children and their families spans over 15 years, working in the fields of home visiting, Early Childhood Education, and mental health case management. Professionally and personally, Mrs. Coles has been dedicated to empowering, encouraging, and emboldening Early Childhood professionals, young children and their families.
