1. What ages are eligible to play in the County's soccer program?

Youth ages 3-18 may participate. Age grouped leagues are all organized as follows:

6 & under (6u)
8 & under (8u)
10 & under (10u)
12 & under (12u)
15 & under (15u)
18 & under (18u)

The Start Smart (Instructional Class) is a coed program for children ages 3-5.

2. Where and when is the skating program?

Skate, Rattle & Roll is held on Friday nights from September through mid-June at Dare Elementary School. The elementary and family skate session is 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m..  Middle School session is from 9 to 11 pm. 

3. My child plays Little League at the Athletic Complex. If inclement weather is threatening, how do I find out the status of the game?

Call the Rainout Line at 757-890-3501 extension 84.  You may also download the app to your phone for updates. 

4. Do you have to be a resident of York County to register for leisure classes?

You do not have to be a resident. There is an extra feel for non-residents.

5. Do you have to be a York County resident to participate in our summer sports camps?

No. There is an extra fee for non-residents.

6. What fields will be used for the County's soccer program?

The McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC), Kiln Creek Park, Wolf Trap Road, and York County Elementary School fields will be used. 

7. What equipment is needed for soccer?

Each player in the soccer program is required to wear shin guards. 

8. What ages are eligible to play youth basketball?

The leagues will be broken down as follows: 

8 & under girls
8 & under boys
10 & under girls
10 & under boys
12 & under girls
12 & under boys
15 & under girls
15 & under boys
18 & under girls
18 & under boys

The coed Start Smart (Instructional Class) is for ages 5-7.

9. What days of the week do youth basketball leagues play?

Practices and games could be played Monday to Thursday evenings and on Saturdays. Dates and times may vary.

10. What gyms will be used for the youth basketball program?

York County Elementary Schools and York County Middle School gymnasiums are used for the program.
