Make the Most of Your Labor Day Weekend
Clear your calendar for Saturday, August 30, because we’ve got two fun things for you to do at Riverwalk Landing. First, join us for Yorktown Market Days from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to stock up on fresh produce, cheeses, and sweet treats for a Labor Day picnic. Local farmers and artisans will be selling their goods at our beautiful waterfront location. Beginning at 9 a.m., Ron Fetner will perform on the Riverwalk Landing Stage.
End the day with a magical night under the stars as the Virginia Symphony Orchestra returns to Riverwalk Landing. Pack a picnic, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and listen to the beautiful music of this award-winning symphony. This year's performance theme is “Stars & Stripes & Symphonies” to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. and under the direction of Conductor Chia-Hsuan Lin, listen to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Still’s Fanfare for the 99th Fighter Squadron, and more at this family-friendly concert. The Fifes and Drums of York Town will perform at the beginning of this event, too! This free concert is presented by the Celebrate Yorktown Committee of the Yorktown Foundation with generous support from York County, the York County Arts Commission, the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the local community. The volunteer-run Celebrate Yorktown Committee works year-round to raise the money needed to cover the cost of this special evening.
