Waste Management Operations Inclement Weather Update - Thursday, February 20

Due to winter weather, Waste Management Operations are as follows:

The VPPSA compost Facility is closed on Thursday, February 20, and will reopen at 8am on Friday, February 21.

The transfer station, citizen garbage drop-off area, and recycling center/metal recycling are closed on Thursday, February 20.  These areas will reopen at 8am on Friday, February 21.  Please note that this is one hour later than usual opening.

Curbside Collections

Garbage

• Curbside garbage collections are canceled for Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21.  Republic Services will reset garbage routes beginning on Monday, February 24 and will pick up extra bags from the Thursday and Friday routes canceled for this week.  The Transfer Station will reopen on Friday and will also be open on Saturday to accept incoming material as well. 

Recycling (Red Week)

• Wednesday routes that were not completed will be collected on Saturday, February 22
• Thursday routes will be collected on Saturday, February 22
• Friday routes will be collected on Monday, February 24

Recycling (Blue Week) - All Blue Week collections will run on a 1-day delay next week (Week of February 24):

• Monday collected on Tuesday (February 25)
• Tuesday collected on Wednesday (February 26)
• Wednesday collected on Thursday (February 27)
• Thursday collected on Friday (February 28)
• Friday collected on Saturday (March 1)
