[ARCHIVED] Meet Local Author Tiffany Rebar

Meet local children's author Tiffany Rebar on Dec 9, 10 am to noon, at Yorktown Library

Stop by the Yorktown Library between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, December 9, to meet local author Tiffany Rebar.  Rebar will be signing copies of her recently published children's book Welcome Home Melanie Mae. Books will also be available for sale.

Rebar's book features Melanie Mae, a fun-loving giraffe, whose beautiful smile and loving character will delight children as they read about her adventures in a new home. Melanie Mae encourages learning as she goes through the days of the week with her new family. With the amazing imagination of two girls, who happily welcomed her into their family, Melanie Mae can do anything. Their days are filled with fun and excitement as they do photo shoots, dance, dress-up, go on a safari, and much more. Melanie Mae is happy to find a place where she can be the unique, silly giraffe that she truly is. She finally found a place where she belongs.

Rebar hopes you fall in love with Melanie Mae in the same way her family has enjoyed going on these adventures in their home with Melanie Mae, a large stuffed giraffe. The rhyming and repetitive nature of this book will promote learning and language concepts while encouraging imaginative play in the younger child. This warmhearted and fun book will provide entertainment and enhance imaginations for years to come.

Tiffany Rebar grew up in the small town of Johnstown, PA. Her passion for helping people led to a career as a Nurse Practitioner. After the birth of her daughters, Rebar’s love for children’s books blossomed. She enjoys a charming, heartfelt story filled with imagination and adventure. She is a first time author and is excited about her new book Welcome Home Melanie Mae. Rebar, her husband, two daughters, and their pets currently live in Yorktown, VA and love the beach life.

York County Public Library is committed to supporting local authors. Tiffany Rebar is the first local author featured  in our new Local Authors @ the Library program. If you are a local author and interested participating in this program, please submit the online local authors request form.
