Title: Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
Reviewer: Mackenzie J.
Rating: 5 Stars

"CarveCarve the Mark, written by Veronica Roth, is about two young people who must put aside their differences to help save their planet.

Cyra Noavek is part of the Shotet people, and her brother, Ryzek Noavek, is an evil ruler who uses Cyra’s current gift to get what he wants. Akos Kereseth is Thuvesit, and because of his fate, is kidnapped by Ryzek. Both of them work together to get what they both want. For Akos to go back home and Cyra to reduce her pain, courtesy of her current gift of inflicting pain on others and herself.

I liked this book because of Veronica Roth’s word choice. She is very descriptive of the places and characters. It made it easier to imagine what everything looked like and to better understand the characters feelings. I definitely recommend this book to young adult readers and sci-fi lovers.
